ABC Labs started as an impact-project in response to the unprecedented challenges posed by Covid-19 on Sweden’s healthcare system. Designed and deployed in 8 weeks, ABC conducted 3.1 million PCR tests in a custom-built roboticized laboratory on Campus Solna - representing up to 28% of all testing in Sweden.
Research programs at ABC combining next generation sequencing (NGS), T-Cell testing, and immunoassays led to various publications and enabled the Swedish national screening programs for the Alpha, Delta, and Omicron variants of Covid-19.
Beyond the pandemic, ABC is building products combining LC-MS/MS (liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry) with a proprietary software platform to enable personalized substance abuse testing for organizations operating in highly-regulated industries.
Several research pilots and collaborations are ongoing in parallel to help develop products addressing other large challenges in diagnostics.
